Curry Powder
All curry powders are not the same. As most of our readers know by now, we love Penzeys curry powder, but let me tell you that they have about 7 different curry powders all with their own unique flavor compositions.
For this dressing, we used their The Now Curry. It has great flavor with bright ginger and vibrant garlic notes. It’s bold on cumin spice and a little less of the turmeric with little to no heat.
Feel free to use your favorite curry powder and let it shine in the creamy dressing.
Samosa Salad Bowl
We made super tasty Vegan Samosa Rolls to go in our Samosa Salad Bowl, and paired it with our Vegan Curry Dressing.
Here’s how we made this salad:
- Salad greens
- Slices tomatoes
- Chopped cucumber
- Carrot Ribbons
- Toasted Cashews
- Vegan Samosa Rolls
- Chopped cilantro
We hope you are enjoying our Whip It Up Wednesday quick and easy ideas!

Whole Food Plant Based, vegan, plant based, oil free, refined sugar free, gluten free, no highly processed ingredients.
Ingredients
- 3 Tablespoons tahini
- 2 Tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon distilled white vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons water
- 1 Tablespoon + 2 teaspoons organic maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons low sodium tamari *
- 1 teaspoon miso *
- 1 teaspoon curry powder *
- 2 teaspoons freshly chopped cilantro (fine chop)
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients into a small bowl and whisk until emulsified.
- Serve immediately. If refrigerated, when ready to serve, whisk before serving on your favorite salad greens, veggies, or samosas.
Note: For best flavor after refrigeration: remove from the refrigerator and allow to sit for 30 minutes to come to room temperature.
Notes
*Miso: We used Miso Master Organic Mellow White Premium Lite Miso, Certified Gluten Free. Miso really lends itself to balancing flavors when you don’t use oil. You can also substitute with chickpea miso for a soy free version.
*Curry Powder: Use your favorite curry powder. We used Penzeys The Now Curry. It has great flavor. We really enjoy it. Curry powders really vary in terms of taste and heat.
*Tamari: We used San J Tamari Soy Sauce, Gluten Free, Reduced Sodium. You can substitute the tamari with reduced sodium soy sauce, Braggs Liquid Aminos, or Braggs Coconut Liquid Aminos.
*Serving: Makes about 2/3 cup
*Storage: Refrigerate and use within 5 days.

Absolutely amazing dressing. I wanted to drink it straight from the mason jar I made it in. The only regret is only making one serving of it…next time I will make multiple batches and pour it on everything.
The curry I used was a package I got from Zanzibar. It is a spicier curry, but still delicious! But S&B Oriental Curry is also really good. I used a little bit more cilantro, because why not?!
Best dressing recipe I have found in a while! A keeper

This dressing is absolutely amazing. I have a question though … how would you suggest making it thicker? It is great as it is for salads but a thicker texture could be nice for other things. #drinkable
Hi there Kimberly 🙂
Yaaaaay! We are so glad that you gave this recipe a try and enjoyed it! As for making it thicker, you could try to reduce the amount of water or leave it out completely and gradually add it in until you reach your desired thickness. We haven’t tried it this way and the flavors might change slightly (more intense.) Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback and for taking the time to write.

Another winner of a dressing! You are four for four so far in my trying different dressing recipes. I didn’t have cilantro so skipped that.
