Hi there! Ameera here!
Mom and I have been working hard on creating a healthy AND delicious barbecue sauce that rivals the best of the best barbecue sauces out there.
Eureka, we did it!
We have been perfecting this barbecue sauce for quite a while now. Each time we made it, we tweaked it. Now, we believe we have a very delicious and post-worthy barbecue sauce that we are delighted to share with our readers!
Awesomeness without the highly-processed ingredients
As most of you Whole Food Plant Based followers know, it is really difficult to find a store-bought barbecue sauce that doesn’t have oil, a base of ketchup that contains high fructose corn syrup, brown sugar or other highly processed ingredients.
Our barbecue sauce contains none of that, but tastes every bit as good as your favorite brand.
Plus, it is so easy to make. Add all the ingredients to a pan, stir, and cook. It is just that easy. You will be so happy you made your own.
This recipe is spicy, sweet, and smoky. You will find yourself wanting to make this barbecue sauce again and again.
Texas Style Barbecue Tempeh Sandwiches and Wraps
We love to put this delicious barbecue sauce over baked tempeh and make sandwiches and wraps. Couple it with our Classic Vegan Coleslaw, and you have an amazingly delicious combo! The kids will flip out. It is so tasty and looks awesome on the plate.
Robin here!
Monkey is the queen of barbecue sauces. She has so many barbecue tricks up her sleeve that we can’t wait to share all of them with you over the next few months.
Barbecue Tempeh
Monkey has made barbecue tempeh multiple times over the past year. I love barbecue tempeh in a wrap, coupled with our Classic Vegan Coleslaw. Picture Homer from The Simpsons drooling over a donut, that is me when we make barbecue tempeh. LOL
We struggled to find a gluten free WFPB compliant wrap until recently. We searched high and low, near and far. We eventually found spinach wrap from Raw Wraps that is sooooo good. They cost a little more than your average wraps, but they are anything but average, and when you are desperate for a WFPB compliant and gluten free wrap, sometimes, you just take the plunge and hope for the best.
This spinach wrap is thinner than your average wrap, but it is very tasty and fits the ticket perfectly. We are happy campers. Worth the price, in my humble opinion to get Whole Food Plant Based compliant AND gluten free.
Give this barbecue sauce a try, your family will love it.
