Hi there, Ameera here!
This week’s Whip It Up Wednesday is our super tasty Fast and Easy Asian Slaw. We try to make vinegar-based coleslaws a lot simply because Dad loves, I mean LOVES vinegar-based coleslaws.
He is always buying various coleslaw mixes trying to entice us to create something new or creative. He is so blatantly obvious. “Ohhhh, and by the way, I bought this new coleslaw mix at the store because I know you and Mom can make something fun out it for the blog!” LOL
He is also sure to remind us that he wants it to be vinegar based rather than creamy based coleslaw. LOL The man does love his coleslaw!!

Sensational Slaw
So, Mom and I embarked on making an Asian vinegar-based slaw to complement our Chinese Five Spice Barbecue Sauce because we were planning to make a soy curl BBQ sandwich.
This coleslaw is ridiculously easy to make, especially if you buy a coleslaw package from the grocery store like we did. We used a rainbow blend, well, simply because Dad thought it looked cool. LOL Plus, rainbow veggies equal variety of nutrients – YAY!
It turned out utterly delicious. It is not super tangy, but more mellow and lightly sweet. We thought it was the perfect complement to the bold Chinese Five Spice Barbecue Sauce sandwich and lettuce cups we created.
Whip it up Wednesday
And as you already know, every Wednesday, we feature a quick and easy recipe that can be “whipped up” in 20 minutes or less, so this coleslaw, which can be made in about 5 minutes, is perfect for a Whip It Up Wednesday recipe!
We hope you enjoy our new Whip It Up Wednesday quick and easy ideas! If you try it, we would love to know if you enjoy it as much as we do!

Notes
*Coleslaw Mix: Any coleslaw mix will work with this recipe. We used a rainbow blend slaw which consisted of shredded broccoli, carrots, red cabbage, cauliflower, and kohlrabi.
*Tamari:We used San J Tamari Soy Sauce, Gluten Free, Reduced Sodium. You can substitute the tamari with reduced sodium soy sauce, Braggs Liquid Aminos, or Braggs Coconut Liquid Aminos.
*Miso: We used Miso Master Organic Mellow White Premium Lite Miso, Certified Gluten Free. Miso really lends itself to balancing flavors when you don’t use oil. You can also use chickpea miso for a soy free version.
*Sea Salt: Please adjust the sea salt based upon your family’s sea salt preferences and/or based upon dietary needs.
