Tips for Success:
- Flavor Profile: These delicious Blueberry Bliss Balls are easy to make and are both healthy and delicious. They are the perfect snack when you need a quick pick-me-up to power through until your next meal.
- Fresh or Frozen Blueberries: You can use either fresh or frozen blueberries in this recipe. If using frozen, allow them to thaw to room temperature. Remove any excess liquids before adding to the recipe.
- Coconut Flakes versus Shredded Coconut: We suggest using coconut flakes and not shredded coconut. Shredded coconut is typically very finely chopped and can be used, but we do not have the measurement for shredded coconut. If using finely shredded coconut, then you may wish to scale back on the amount of coconut flakes you use.
- Coconut Substitute: If you wish to leave the coconut out, use a couple extra tablespoons of rolled oats. Additionally, you do not need to roll the bliss balls in coconut. They taste just a delicious plain.
- Shredded Coconut for Rolling: You will need approximately ½ to ¾ cup of shredded coconut if you plan to roll the balls in coconut. We did half in coconut and left the other have plain. We used approximately 1/3 cup to roll half the balls.
- Medjool Dates: Medjool dates are naturally very soft and pliant. They work perfectly with this recipe because of this. If you have very dry dates, consider placing them in a bowl, cover with boiling water, and allow to sit for 10 minutes. Discard the water, and place into the food processor at the appropriate time.
- Lemon Zest: The lemon zest is optional, but it does add a yummy layer of tastiness as lemon and blueberries go great together.
Leftovers and Freezing:
Leftovers will generally keep 7 days in the refrigerator. Store in a covered container.
This bliss balls freeze well.
Pantry Products:

Description
Naturally sweetened with fruit, these simple No Bake Blueberry Bliss Balls are easy to make and utterly delicious!
Ingredients
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats (not instant oats)
- 2 Tablespoons flaxseed meal
- 1/3 cup unsweetened coconut flakes, plus more for rolling *
- 8 Medjool dates, pitted *
- 1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- ¼ teaspoon lemon zest (optional) *
- Pinch sea salt
Instructions
- Place the rolled oats into the food processor, process for 20 seconds, just to break them up.
- Add all the remaining Ingredients to the food processor. Process until all the ingredients are broken up and start to clump together.
- Test the “dough” by pinching it to see if it holds together easily. If too wet, add more oats or flaxseed meal and process. If too dry, add a couple of blueberries or a Medjool date.
- When the “dough” holds it shape, scoop up 1 rounded tablespoon of the mixture, roll into a firm ball and set on a parchment paper lined plate.Repeat until all the mixture has been rolled into balls.
- If rolling in coconut flakes (optional), place the coconut flakes – see blog post for the amount, into the clean food processor and process for several minutes until the coconut is finely shredded. Roll the blueberry bliss balls in the shredded coconut and place on a parchment paper lined plate.
- Place the plate in the freeze for 10 minutes, then switch to the refrigerator for an hour to allow the cookie balls to firm up. Once firm, store them in the refrigerator in an air-tight container. They also freeze well.

Oh. My. Gosh. These little buggers are wonderful! I love how you guys come up with this stuff!! I am trying to decide which way I like them better, right after mixing , or cold. It was easier to taste the little burst of lemon when they had just been mixed , but they’re delicious cold too. Definitely a winner here!!

I made the blueberry balls today- so delicious-almost taste like they have condensed milk in them 😊 only mine are more of a grey colour than a vibrant purple. Definitely a winner !

I made two batches of these today with frozen blueberries. The first one I thawed the berries and drained off the liquid. The second batch, the berries were nearly thawed and I didn’t drain them. I thought the second batch looked more vibrant and were pleasantly more moist. I mixed the batches together, then used a small cookie scoop and got 27 “balls”
This seems more efficient and cleaner for my old hands since perfectly shaped balls were not a high priority. As for the taste? 👍👍👍

Made these for the second time… three batches for 37 balls. I used a small cookie scoop to keep them uniform. My husband loves them for a before breakfast or after supper treat. I don’t bother with rolling them in more coconut. They are delicious as they are. Thanks for another outstanding recipe!
