Tips for Success:
- Flavor Profile: These Turkish Delight Bliss Balls are perfectly sweet, salty, and utterly delicious, filled with pistachios, dates, and coconut. They are easy to make and are the perfect pick-me-up to help you power through until your next meal. Perfect as a snack or treat. When most people think of Turkish Delight, they think of is a soft gelatin type of confection. These bliss balls are not a gelatin-type of confection/candy; these are truly a bliss balls with Turkish flavors of pistachios, dates, and coconut.
- Taste the Mixture: The beauty of these tasty Turkish Delight Bliss Balls is that you can taste them before fully committing to shaping them into balls.
- Medjool Dates/Water: Medjool dates are naturally very soft and pliant. They work perfectly with this recipe because of this. If you have very dry dates, consider placing them in a bowl, cover with boiling water, and allow to sit for 3 minutes. Discard the water, drain off any excess water, pat dry, and place into the food processor at the appropriate time. If you soaked the Medjool Dates, they may create a slightly stickier mixture than anticipated and you may not need the water at all. You may need to adjust by adding a tad bit more of shredded coconut.
- Amount of Sea Salt: Our family was completely divided over the amount of sea salt needed for this recipe. This recipe is a perfect play on sweet and salty. If concerned, start with a pinch and increase from there. We felt ¼ teaspoon was prefect.
- Table Salt: If using table salt, you should use less table salt than the amount listed in the ingredients as sea salt crystals are larger than table salt crystals. Since table salt crystals are very fine, less table salt is required to season a dish. We would suggest starting with about 1/4 to 1/2 the amount of sea salt listed. You can always add more salt but cannot take it away. We recommend using sea salt as it is less refined than table salt.
Leftovers and Freezing:
Leftovers will generally keep 10 days in the refrigerator. Store in a covered air-tight container.

Description
Turkish Delight Bliss Balls are a deliciously indulgent, perfectly balanced treat that hits sweet, salty, and chewy notes in every bite.
Ingredients
Base Ingredients:
- 8 Medjool dates, pitted
- 1 cup shredded coconut *
- 2/3 cup roasted salted pistachios *
- 1 Tablespoon + 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt (+/-) *
- 1 to 2 teaspoons water (see notes) *
Optional Topping:
- 3 Tablespoons roasted salted pistachios
- 2 Tablespoons shredded coconut
Instructions
- Make the Topping to roll the balls in by placing 3 Tablespoons of pistachios and 2 Tablespoons of shredded coconut in a food processor and finely chop by pulsing on and off until a fine dry mixture forms. Remove from the food processor, place in a small bowl, and set aside.
- Place the pistachios into the food processor and pulse on and off until roughly chopped, about 8 to 10 pulses. Do not overly process as they will get processed again in Step 3. Step 2 is just to break them up a little.
- Then add all the remaining Base Ingredients (except the water) into the food processor (with the chopped pistachios) and process until the mixture starts to comes together.
- Test the “dough mixture” by pinching and rolling it to see if it holds together easily. Roll it in a ball if needed to test. If too dry or doesn’t hold together enough, add 1 teaspoon up to 2 teaspoons of water. Continue adding 1 teaspoon of water until the dough holds together nicely when test rolling. If too wet, add an additional teaspoon of shredded coconut.
- When the “dough” holds it shape easily, scoop up 1 tablespoon (or a small cookie scoop) of the mixture, roll into a firm ball and set on a plate. Repeat until all the mixture has been rolled into balls.
- Then roll all the balls into the topping mixture and set on a plate.
- Place the plate in the refrigerator or freezer for 20 minutes or until very firm.
- Once firm, move to an air-tight container, then store them in the refrigerator. They also freeze well.
