Hi there, and welcome to our blog page!
My name is Ameera, and my “partner in crime” is my mom, Robin. We are so glad that you found us! And you’ve come to the right place to find delicious, healthy, Whole Food Plant Based recipes, tips and tricks to make it easy, and I promise we’ll have some good laughs along the way! We have been Whole Food Plant Based since 2016!
In 2018, I became a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate Program Graduate of nutrition studies.org from eCornell. Also, I am proud member of WFPB.org and National Health Association (Health Science) – organizations dedicated to the Whole Food Plant Based lifestyle.

What is Whole Food Plant Based? Great question!
The Whole Food Plant Based philosophy focuses on vegan, oil-free, refined sugar free, and the use of minimally processed to no processed food ingredients. Additionally, all of our recipes are also gluten free.
We are a fun-loving mother-daughter blogging team with a healthy appetite – lol. This is perfect for us as we love creating yummy recipes, converting comfort food to Whole Food Plant Based, and enjoying our journey together. Not to mention our love of kitchen gadgets, beautiful linens, and tablescapes – you can never have enough, am I right? 🙂
So you may be wondering, how did you end up on this blogging journey? What an awesome question! I’ll let my mom, Robin, take over from here.
Robin Here!
Our kitchen adventures originally started as a “blog-like” recipe-sharing Facebook group page for my son and family members in January of 2017. My son, Christopher aka “Doctopher” (more on this later) had been recently diagnosed with Celiac disease. Additionally, Chris is a vegetarian, along with his beautiful wife, Katie, and their amazingly adorable children, Charlotte and Emily (my granddaughters).
Ameera and I originally built a Facebook group page so Chris (the family cook) could review recipes that we created and tested to see which ones he would like to try, and potentially make for his family. He lives out of state and has a very busy schedule. Chris is an adjunct professor (hence the “Doctopher”), and Katie is an attorney. We wanted to find a way to help make their lives easier, which is difficult since we live far apart. Creating and testing vegetarian recipes with simple instructions for my son, fulfilled a creative outlet for me.

Then one fateful day…
Monkey and I happened across the “Forks over Knives” and “What the Health” documentaries on Netflix in 2016. From that day forward, we switched from a gluten-free vegetarian diet to a Whole Food Plant Based lifestyle, and we are loving the journey and having a lot of fun in the kitchen.
We really loved sharing our recipes on our Facebook group page with our friends and family. And soon after, we started receiving messages inquiring on where to locate our foodie website and where to locate our Pinterest page. Ameera and I sat down and had to really think about if we were ready to make the leap from a Facebook group page to an official foodie website. Ultimately, we decided – YES! We made the leap! We started our blog! We are so happy we decided to run with it as our blog really feels like a place we can call “home.”
Please join us in our kitchen adventures, you’ll see how easy, nourishing, and most importantly, how yummy a Whole Food Plant Based lifestyle can be. We’ll try new foods together, discover new flavors, and become healthier one recipe at a time.
